McKinley Hill

Designing for the global village

Globalization has dawned upon us the past decade.

Everything — from schooling, to the design of products and the promotion of services — aspires to be world-class. It’s no wonder, then, that there is one neighborhood that aspires to be not only world-class in terms of architecture, but has also collaborated with institutions to make it a small global village in itself. An ambitious project like this comes from Megaworld Corporation.

That neighborhood is the 50-hectare McKinley Hill in Fort Bonifacio. McKinley Hill Village, dubbed "The most beautiful village in Metro Manila," features opulent Mediterranean homes that bear distinctive Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and Floridian influences.

With the site’s rolling hills, verdant landscape, magnificent views of Laguna Lake and fresh breeze, this is as close as we’ll get to living in a setting similar to the Mediterranean’s shores.

At another hilly section of this new township will rise a village that was inspired by Italy’s most beautiful region.

Aptly named McKinley Hill Tuscany Private Estate, it features seven clusters of rustic residential condominium buildings with varying heights.

The best ideals of Italy will be replicated for the enjoyment of residents: Pizzerias at the ground floor commercial section, an exclusive winery at the main clubhouse, and even villas on top of a bridge – just like in the historic city of Florence.

Classes are now open at the new Chinese International School Manila. Meanwhile, hotel and culinary learning institution Enderun Colleges will open its campus this November, whereas the Korean International School is set to open in the next few years. The new British Embassy is now under construction, while the Korean Embassy is now into the planning stages of their new facility.

As a modern township, the property also boasts of emerging business and commercial districts. The 14-hectare McKinley Hill Cyberpark will host third-generation business process outsourcing (BPO) office buildings. Here, international-caliber BPO firms will further drive the service sector’s growth as they fulfill the business needs of their global clients.

Just a few steps from the cyberpark will rise The Venetian, a new mall which recreates the historic architecture and canals of Venice in the country.

With all these projects in place, residents will get to taste the benefits of the Live-Work-Play-Learn credo of McKinley Hill.

"As a self-sustaining community, our residents don’t really have to go out of the community to enjoy the finest things in life. Everything they need is a few minutes’ walk or ride away. That’s one of the benefits of living in a world-class village like McKinley Hill," Megaworld FVP Noli Hernandez said.
