How to know God's will?

In everyday's life decision making is one of the most important thing that we should take care of because in decision our future is always depending on it especially when it concern between what we want? and what God's wanted to us. But how we will truly know that we are always in the right decision? or are we just only following what we want? or we are valuing our decision because we follow the God's teaching.

For me it is very important to know what is God's will because as per my experience sometimes we use to push our self into something that we only wanted but we forgot to think about it carefully then what will happen we fail the result.  I just wanna re-share this simple guides that we study in my cell-group by knowing God's will because I wanna help others too to know the very good lesson of submitting our decision into God's will.

HOW DO YOU KNOW GOD’S WILL?
God wants you to know His will for specific decisions in your life. Here are five steps to follow in learning
God’s will:

1. Get quiet on the inside. Spend time alone with God. When you are quiet, God will be able to speak to
you.

2. Understand that God wants you to know His will. He will gladly show it to you through prayer, the
Word, circumstances, and the counsel of others.

3. Lay the whole matter before God. Describe every detail, every desire, and every motive of your
situation. Write down the pros and cons of every opportunity on paper. Write as far as your mind’s
eye can see. The option which goes to the farthest, without road-blocks, is probably the will of God.

4. Read few chapters of the Scripture. Don’t flip from page to page hoping to stumble upon an answer.
Each day read a few chapters of Scripture. God will guide you by the principles of His Word. As you
learn His principles, you will be able to apply them, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to your own
specific situation. As you read, God will confirm His will.

5. Let the peace of God be the umpire of your life. Down deep in your heart, there will be a settled
peace as you make the right decision. You will know the things are right. You will know that you are
in God’s will.

And here the bible reference of God's will and study questions:
(all written in NIV)

Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you

1. How does this verse encourage you as you seek to
know God’s will?

Psalm 25:9

He guides the humble in what is right
    and teaches them his way.

2. What kind of people does God guide?

James 5:1-8

Warning to Rich Oppressors
5 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a] 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

Patience in Suffering
7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.
